A couple months back I had the honor of doing some photos for Darryl Brown, an amazing graphic designer and stellar skate boarder, who does design work for Geez Magazine. If you haven’t read the magazine you might pick it up at some point, it’s a really great read. And the photos are too bad either! Anyways, Darryl pointed out that a photo from our session for one of the topics is highlighted on Geez’s website. Check it out! Also worth noting would be that Bryan & Leah, my good photographer friends, are two of our models!

And sorry for the lack of posts lately! EP has had walking pneumonia, so things have been on hold lately. More posts to come soon though!

sam & alyssa: oregon engagement.

Having known Sam for a long time now, I was stoked when he and Alyssa contacted me to shoot their wedding this coming summer. We had a lot of fun around Newberg this last week, enjoying the winter sun and temporary warm weather. Below are a few of my favorite images.

I had way too much fun with Espen, playing in the late afternoon sun yesterday. The best part about it was when we both took our cameras out (he got a little digital camera for his birthday) and were photographing the flowers together. At one point he got fed up with his little camera and told me he wanted to take a photo with my camera (the Canon 1Ds Mark II), and so the last photo on this page was taken by Espen. I held the camera off the ground, he gripped it, looked through the view finder, framed the shot, and pushed the shutter button. Way to go EP! Hope you were all able to enjoy the sun while it lasted.

I had the treat today to utilize the amazing warmth and sunlight for my friends’ (Sam & Alyssa) engagement session. We tromped around Newberg laughing and snapping shots. More to come soon!

That’s about all I’ve been working on the last couple days! Here’s a couple spreads from Thomas & Abigail’s wedding, which if you didn’t catch their photos the first time around you can right here. I have to say, Fundy Album Builder is probably the best investment I’ve made for album design! If you’re a photographer and looking to save some time and still have custom options at your creative disposal, check them out. I’m now getting 20-30 page albums done in around 1-2 hours. It’s a beautiful thing!

I had a last minute opportunity to be a part of this wedding, which was great that it worked out! I’ve known Jeanine and her sister for a while, so it was fun to journey with her and her new husband, Jodhan through their wedding. And on Super Bowl Sunday at that! espen: turning three.

That’s right, the boy is now three! Crazy to believe we’ve already come this far. So, in celebration he and I mad a photo booth the other night and proceeded to take photos of one another. He decided on all the hats, and other random props. He also did an amazing job of taking photos, for which I gladly posed. The image of the two of us together was taking by EP using a remote shutter release. Very cool! Leave some birthday love for the little man if you have a moment.

And this one (below) I just had to include as it captures his amazing eyes, and would be great for a got milk ad.

adam sweeney: recording at the woods.

A very good friend of mine, Adam Sweeney, is in the process of recording his next album. I’ve had the privilege to help engineer at various points on his earlier albums, as well as play on the albums. You should definitely check out his site and listen to some of his music! We had a lot of fun touring around MA while we lived on the east coast, playing some fun shows in local venues. I had the chance to capture one of his recent recording sessions at the Woods on the Eastside of Portland. The place is a funeral home converted into an awesome new music venue, and it was fun to check it out and hear them record. I’ll post more of the session soon…here a fun one of the setup – Adam moving equipment around.
