A Northern Irish Wedding: Part II…international wedding photographer

After some preparations we made our way out into the countryside to the Grange Meeting-House, which is the second oldest Quaker meetinghouse in Ireland.  George Fox even visited this meetinghouse at one point!  It was an overcast morning, and shortly after we arrived it began to sprinkle.  This was the first rain I had seen...

A Northern Irish Wedding: Part I…international wedding photographer

OK friends, here is the first of several posts, I’m sure!  I can’t begin to say how much fun I had not only hanging out in Ireland with Aidan, Joy, and the rest of the friends I have there, but to shoot their wedding was a completely amazing and stellar time!  It was especially cool...

Irish Quaker Wedding…images from a NW photographer This is just a sneak peak of what’s too come.  As I prep for a week down at the coast I’m trying my hardest to get things done and posted here.  Here’s a shot of the newly weds at the grounds of the reception site, the Corick House.

Oh, homeward bound…

Oh, homeward bound… That’s right folks.  It’s a steady pace I’m keeping at the Newark International Airport before the 2nd leg of my homeward journey.  Luckily I have the Brothers K to keep me company, and the chance for a decent internet connection to let me at the blog action once again.  The wedding last...

alisa - this friend speaks my mind.

July 8, 2009 - 12:55 am

PJB - I think Alisa should win. Her contributions sounded so sincere and Paul Simon melancholy like.

July 7, 2009 - 8:10 pm

alisa - sigh

July 6, 2009 - 7:53 pm

Joel - Great answers! Unfortunately the location is so disputed and to this point (as far as I’ve researched) never legitimately confirmed by Paul Simon himself) that we’re going to bypass that part of the question and assume it was in the general Liverpool area, possibly Widnes North where the plaques have showed up, but who really knows. That said, Paul Simon is right, Angela! So, when you get a chance let me know what you’d like a print of, or feel free to wait and look for my upcoming nature gallery on my website. Thanks for the answers folks, and sorry Alisa!

nameless - Paul Simmon wrote it while waiting for a train at Halebank railway station.
or…….
Fleetwood Mac… they also have a song called “homeward bound”

July 5, 2009 - 6:44 pm

Emily - I never knew PJB and Paul Simon were so tight. Can’t compete with that. I figured out all the correct answers as well if that counts for anything. It was produced by Bob Johnston and recorded on December 14, 1965. Awesome pictures!!

July 5, 2009 - 4:27 am

alisa - AHHHH!!!!

July 4, 2009 - 2:33 pm

PJB - Correction. Simon says it was written in Liverpool, but there is also a plaque the British Rail Station in Widnes that says he wrote it there.

July 4, 2009 - 2:30 pm

PJB - So the answer is Paul Simon, Homeward Bound, Wigan.

July 4, 2009 - 2:29 pm

PJB - Simon was traveling back from Wigan when he wrote the song.

July 4, 2009 - 1:37 pm

sarai - Homeward Bound, by Paul Simon, written in …London? beautiful pics, by the way. Oregon is excited to have you return!

July 4, 2009 - 1:08 pm

Angela Kantz - Paul Simon
Widnes
He got stuck there and wrote the song while waiting.

Northern Ireland…images from a NW photographer Here is the first installment!  Due to very low internet locations the posts are not as often as I thought they would have been, but that’s not to say that the time here has been without adventure!  We’ve had a great time so far touring Belfast, the eastern seaboard,...
